35 years

Sunday was our 35th wedding anniversary. We've come through all the ups and downs of being married and I'm happy that we made it. Paul gave me a new ring. I haven't worn the original ring in probably 20 years and am very happy. Its everything that I wanted without even knowing what I wanted. This is my kind of trade in.

Eclipse

The Eclipse party was a blast with lots of roses and candles. Alice was our special Cullen visitor. The cake looked great. I loved that we dressed accordingly. A party with no birthday, anniversary or holiday was good silly fun.

Hi, Mom

It's the little things in life that can make you smile. This morning two words brought a big smile to my face. The China e-mail had a "Hi, Mom." from Ryan. I'm understanding more of what Paul meant when he wrote, "Pray without ceasing."

Grandkids are always at the top of the list. Gelsey is making me smile a lot. She is so calm and kind. It only hurt a little when she punched me in her sleep. She tells me sorry and is still asleep. It does make me laugh to think about it. As much as Jillian didn't want to watch TV for fear of getting addicted, Gelsey and I are watching the Disney Channel together. Sometimes I think I might watch it even when she goes home.

Today is Art Attack, grocery store, library and cooking. We'll be having some fun.

Summer

The last 3 weeks have been great. Jillian visited for a week. We shopped, went to the art museum, sewed and generally hung out. All the Murphys were here (with Josh flying in and out for the weekends) for the next two weeks. What a blast! The zoo, Explora, great food and cooking not to mention a really fun party with a very special guest, Alice. I got to be with the girls who I love enormously and got to know Frank..... He even knows how to say Ma'am and Dadgum now. Now I get a week with Gelsey. We planted veggies today, did a little housework and watched Hanna Montana with two trips to Micky D's.
Life is good.

Testing Tiredness

You would think that giving a test would take less energy that planning and delivering instruction. I'm wiped out. I guess maintaining a really quiet environment with heavy monitoring takes its toll. I'm really ready to go back to real teaching. I get so excited about kids learning that days of testing are just hard on me.
Do your best on the test...SBA

Happy Easter

I had a wonderful Easter weekend. I spend time with the Murphy family. Shopping and pedicures on Friday, Saturday includes seeing my sister and niece, Juli. We attended CCV Saturday afternoon. That was quite an experience. This mega church was well organized and ready for the crowd. The music was great and the message was right on. I really enjoyed it. Stopped for BBQ on the way home. Sunrise service on Easter morning with Josh's band playing worship music. I love seeing guys worship and letting the rest of us join in. Easter eggs after church. Frank learned how to put eggs in his basket quickly. He's so smart. Gelsey and Jillian are getting to be so grown up. New IPods kept them busy, but not too busy for Ma'am. I wish I could see them more often. Amber is a wonderful daughter that makes me feel so welcome in her home. I'm so proud of the woman she is.
Only one thing was short of wonderful. I suck at Mario Kart on the wii. I'm glad I drive better on the freeway that I drive on those courses!

HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE.
