Getting ready for the First Day of School

On the last day of the last school year I moved into a new classroom. I have been getting boxes unpacked, painting over UGLY bulletin boards, and moving furniture around. I am taking the next few days off to enjoy what's left of summer break. Teachers are back on contract on Aug. 6th, meet the teacher is on the late afternoon of August 11th, and the little kiddies come on Aug. 12th. I've done enough to feel like I'll be ready.

Back to normal!?!

Jessica, Ryan's girlfriend, got to meet ALL the family.

Jillian and Gelsey came over for a few days with MA'AM before the rest of the family arrived. Time with my girls is always special.

It was great seeing everyone last week. I hadn't seen some of the family for years.
Mom's memorial service was just right and the house smells so good from all the flowers.

Life is slowing getting back to some form of "normal." I'm not too sure I know what that means. School starts soon and I'm trying to get some literacy reading done before things get too hectic.

Jillian and Gelsey arrived safely and I was greeted with great hugs and kisses. It took about 8 minutes for the dress-up bin to be dumped and the cat chased into hiding. Then we got down to the serious business of hunting for snails. After a brief pause for mac and cheese we had a practice run with the 2 snails that Gelsey found. She decided to get ready for the snail rodeo that is sure to happen when Dadgum gets home from Houston. At dark we came inside to watch a movie, the Shaggy Dog. Tomorrow we're off to Art Attack.

The fourth of July will forever be a special day in our family. Mamaw (Cathy's mom) passed into eternal life in the morning of July 4th. We are doing well and glad to know that she is now comfortable and with the Lord.
